Source: https://past.dev/cookies ยท Last updated 2026-10-27 ## What this page covers This policy lists the cookies and the browser storage that past.dev, its console and its sign-in pages use, why each one is there and how long it lasts. The company that operates past.dev decides how they are used, and you'll find its name in the privacy policy, under Who we are. A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage do the same job inside the browser and are listed here too. Page views are also counted in aggregate by Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookie. ## Strictly necessary These make the site and the console work as you asked. They need no consent, and the banner does not turn them off. | Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | past_consent | past.dev, cookie | Records your choice in the consent banner, so the site applies it on every page. | 1 year | | past_region | past.dev, cookie | Records whether your country needs a yes before optional cookies load. It holds only strict or lax; your country is not stored. | 24 hours | | past-theme | past.dev, local storage | Keeps the light or dark theme you chose. | Until you clear it | | past-launch-video-closed | past.dev, local storage | Keeps the launch video card closed after you close it. | Until you clear it | | PAST_SESSION | The console, cookie | Keeps you signed in to the console at https://app.past.dev. It is set only when you sign in. | 90 days, or until you sign out | | WorkOS | sso.past.dev, cookies | Make sign-up and sign-in work on WorkOS, our identity provider. | Set by WorkOS | ## Analytics These count how the site is used. They load only when analytics is on for you (see Your choice, below). | Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | ph__posthog | PostHog, cookie on past.dev | Recognises your browser across visits, so page views, clicks on calls to action and session recordings are counted for one visitor. | 1 year | | past_first_source | past.dev, local storage | Keeps the source of your first visit: referrer, campaign parameters, landing page and time. | Until you clear it | | past_first_touch | past.dev and its subdomains, cookie | Keeps the campaign of a first visit that came from an ad or a tagged link, so an account you create is credited to that campaign. It is removed if you reject analytics. | 90 days | ## Advertising These measure our ads and build ad audiences. Each network receives your visit and is a separate controller for what it collects. They load only with advertising on. | Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | LinkedIn Insight Tag | LinkedIn, cookies on linkedin.com | Measures our LinkedIn ads and shows them again to people who read this site. Names and lifetimes: linkedin.com/legal/cookie-table | Set by LinkedIn | | X pixel | X, cookies on x.com | Measures our ads on X and shows them again to people who read this site. Names and lifetimes: help.x.com/en/rules-and-policies/x-cookies | Set by X | | Reddit Pixel | Reddit, cookies | Measures our Reddit ads and shows them again to people who read this site. Names and lifetimes: reddit.com/policies/cookies | Set by Reddit | | pd_rdt_signup_conversion | past.dev, session storage | Counts one sign-up click for Reddit per visit. | Until you close the tab | | RB2B | RB2B, cookies | Tries to identify a visitor in the United States by name, work email, company and LinkedIn profile. RB2B states its cookies at rb2b.com. | Set by RB2B | | Click identifiers from ads | past.dev, inside past_first_touch | Google, X and LinkedIn add an identifier to the link of an ad. We keep it so we can tell that network when the click led to an account. | 90 days, with past_first_touch | ## Your choice In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and anywhere we cannot place you, no analytics or advertising cookie is set until you accept it in the banner. Everywhere else, the United States included, the banner is your notice and these cookies are set until you refuse them. Refuse them in the banner, or at any time with "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" at the foot of every page. A Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal refuses every optional cookie, in every country. Your browser can also block or delete cookies. Blocking the strictly necessary ones can stop the console from keeping you signed in. ## More information To see what each vendor receives and what the Memory API stores, read the privacy policy at /privacy.
